A Day in the Life of a Telecalling Executive — Sambalpur & Dhenkanal, Odisha

People imagine telecalling is reading a script until someone says yes. It is not. Here is an actual day in the role at Keshav Solutions, hour by hour, at either our Sambalpur or Dhenkanal office.

9:30 AM — Settling in

The day starts with the call list. Petrol pump owners, rice mill operators, wine shop proprietors across Odisha — some fresh enquiries from our website, some follow-ups, some who asked you to call back this week. You skim your notes from last time so nobody has to repeat themselves.

10:00 AM — The productive window

The first two hours are the best. Shop owners have opened up, the morning rush has not started, and they will actually talk. This is when most demos get booked. You are not selling the software on the phone — your job is narrower and more achievable than that: find out whether this business has the problem our software solves, and if it does, get a demo into the diary for the field team.

12:30 PM — The awkward stretch

Midday is when businesses are busiest and patience is thinnest. Experienced callers use this window for the easier work: confirming appointments, sending WhatsApp follow-ups, updating records, chasing people who asked for information rather than pitching cold.

2:00 PM — Language matters

By afternoon you have usually switched languages several times. A pump owner outside Sambalpur may prefer Odia. A distributor may be more comfortable in Hindi. You do not need every language — any one of English, Hindi, Odia, Telugu, Kannada or Tamil is our requirement. But you will notice quickly that meeting someone in their own language changes the temperature of a call entirely.

4:00 PM — The second window

Late afternoon opens up again as the day’s business winds down. This is often when the longer, more serious conversations happen — the owner who has been thinking about it for a month and finally wants to ask real questions.

6:30 PM — Wrapping up

Notes updated, tomorrow’s list prepared, demos handed to the field team. Office hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and telecalling genuinely ends when the office does — this is not a role that follows you home.

What you learn

Within a few months you will know more about how petrol pumps, rice mills and wine shops actually run than most people ever will. That product knowledge is why several of our field sales executives started on the phones.

What we look for

A clear speaking voice, the patience to hear “call me next week” without taking it personally, and honesty — we do not want anyone overselling on the phone, because the field team then has to walk into that expectation. Freshers are welcome; we train you on the product first. Salary is discussed on the call, with performance-based incentives.

How to apply

Roles are open at both our Sambalpur (Dalaipara) and Dhenkanal (Laxmi Bazar) offices in Odisha.

Apply on WhatsApp — 7653958154. Mention which town suits you, and send your CV in the same chat.
